Details
The Festool PLANEX Drywall Sander Starter Set LHS 2 225/CT 36 EI AC/SYS (579566) is a complete 120V system designed for drywall surface preparation, joint sanding, ceiling finishing, and detail edge work. Centered around the PLANEX 2 LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus long-reach drywall sander and the CT 36 EI AC HEPA mobile dust extractor, this bundle delivers an all-in-one solution for trade professionals, painters, remodelers, and drywall contractors seeking efficient material removal and dust control on large wall and ceiling surfaces.
The PLANEX 2 drywall sander features an 8-7/8 in. (225 mm) abrasive capacity and an 8-1/2 in. (220 mm) interchangeable sanding pad driven by a 400 W motor. Operating at eccentric motion speeds from 5,000 to 8,500 RPM with a 3/16 in. (4.0 mm) sanding stroke, the 55 in. long sander removes joint compound smoothly and consistently while reducing operator fatigue during overhead work. The included VL-LHS 2 225 guide extension expands reach on high walls and ceilings without requiring additional staging or ladders.
To keep air and surfaces clean, the sander connects to the included CT 36 EI AC HEPA dust extractor, which features automatic filter cleaning (AutoClean) to maintain continuous suction during heavy sanding applications. Fine drywall dust is extracted directly through the 1-1/16 in. / 1-7/16 in. (27 / 36 mm) port at the sanding pad, preventing clogging and extending abrasive life. For detail work, tight corners, and edges beyond the reach of the long-reach sander, the starter set includes an abrasives Systainer packed with an HSK-A 80x130 extractable hand sanding block and Granat Net abrasives.
