Two tools, one limited run. FEIN released the MULTIMASTER Black Edition as a short production series covering the AMM 500 Plus and the AMM 700 MAX, both cordless, both 18V, both shipping in a black L-BOXX case rather than the packaging the standard kits use.
The work these handle is the awkward part of a remodel. Plunge cuts into installed material, flush-cutting nails and screws against a surface, scraping adhesive and caulk, pulling grout, and sanding into corners a random orbit sander cannot reach. FEIN built the original oscillating multi-tool for this kind of work, and the tool mount is what separates the two kits here.
The AMM 500 Plus runs a StarlockPlus mount and a 2 x 1.7 degree arc at 11,000 to 18,500 opm with a 2.0 Ah battery. It covers installation, punch-list, and detail work. The AMM 700 MAX runs the StarlockMax mount, a wider 2 x 2.0 degree arc at 10,000 to 19,500 opm, and a 4.0 Ah battery, which suits long cuts and demolition where the narrower arc slows material removal.
Both tools run on 18V AMPShare, so the battery and GAL 1880 CV rapid charger cross over to Bosch Professional and every other AMPShare brand. A shop already on that platform can add either tool without introducing a second battery system to the bench.
Each kit includes 18 accessories: two BIM saw blades, a sanding pad, and 15 sanding sheets in 60, 80, and 120 grit. Both carry FEIN's three year PLUS warranty with registration.
