Beaver Industrial Supply, Inc. ("Beaver Industrial Supply," "we," "us," or "our") operates beavertools.com and the related customer accounts, email programs, and support channels described below (together, the "Site"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to the Site and to our sales, service, and support activities. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, or to the separate privacy practices of the manufacturers whose products we sell.

Beaver Industrial Supply sells and ships within the United States only. The Site is directed to customers in the United States and is not intended for use by residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.

1. Quick summary

  • We collect the information needed to sell, ship, finance, and support industrial tools and machinery — contact details, order and payment details, tax-exemption documentation where applicable, and device and usage data.
  • We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising. You can manage non-essential cookies at any time through our cookie preferences link.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share certain identifiers and browsing activity with advertising and analytics partners, which some state privacy laws treat as "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You can opt out.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. See Section 8.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Identifiers and contact information — name, billing and shipping address, email address, telephone number, company name.
  • Account information — login credentials, order history, saved addresses, wish lists, loyalty and rewards activity.
  • Order and transaction information — items purchased, order value, shipping method, returns and exchanges, warranty and service records, layaway arrangements.
  • Payment information — payment card and bank account details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment, the payment method type, and the last four digits of the card. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. When you submit a payment, your information may be shared with a fraud-prevention and verification service.
  • Commercial and tax documentation — resale or tax-exemption certificates, business licenses, purchase orders, and related records where you request tax-exempt or business account status.
  • Financing information — where you apply for financing or a lease through one of our financing partners, you provide information directly to that provider. See Section 6.
  • Protection plans and extended warranties — where you purchase a protection plan or extended warranty, we provide your name, address, telephone number, email address, and details of the plan and product purchased to the third-party administrator of that plan.
  • Gift cards and gift certificates — if you purchase a gift card, you may provide us with the recipient's name and email address so that we can deliver it. We use that information only to deliver the gift card and to handle any related service issues.
  • Contests, promotions, and surveys — if you enter a contest or promotion, we collect the contact information needed to administer it, notify winners, and publish a winners' list where required by state law. If you complete a survey or submit a product review, we collect the responses you provide. Participation is voluntary.
  • Communications — quote requests, technical support inquiries, survey and contest entries, and correspondence with our sales and service teams, including call and chat records. If you report a problem with the Site, we may keep a record of that report.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and connection data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and general location inferred from IP address.
  • Usage data — pages and products viewed, search terms, referring and exit pages, time on site, cart activity, and clicks.
  • Cookie and pixel data — see Section 5.

Information from other sources

  • Shipping carriers and freight brokers (delivery status, address corrections, delivery exceptions).
  • Payment processors and fraud-prevention services (authorization results, risk signals).
  • Advertising and analytics partners (campaign attribution, audience segments).
  • Manufacturers and distributors, in connection with warranty registration, drop-ship fulfillment, and service claims.
  • Publicly available business sources, for business account verification.

3. Categories of personal information collected and disclosed

The table below uses the categories defined by California law. It describes the categories we have collected and disclosed for a business purpose in the preceding twelve months.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. We do not collect biometric information. Tax-exemption documentation may include a federal or state tax identification number, which we use only to administer tax-exempt status and retain as required by tax law.

4. How we use your information

  • To process, fulfill, ship, and invoice your orders, including freight and drop-ship deliveries.
  • To create and administer your account, loyalty and rewards participation, and layaway arrangements.
  • To deliver gift cards to the recipients you designate.
  • To provide customer service, technical support, quotes, returns, warranty claims, protection plan enrollment, and service scheduling.
  • To administer tax-exempt and business account status.
  • To administer contests, promotions, surveys, and product reviews.
  • To communicate with you about orders, back orders, shipment status, product recalls, and service notices.
  • To send marketing communications where permitted, including promotions, new product announcements, and manufacturer rebate offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To personalize the Site, including product recommendations, search results, and recently viewed items.
  • To measure and improve site performance, merchandising, and marketing effectiveness.
  • To advertise, including remarketing and measurement of ad campaigns.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including tax, export control, product safety, and recordkeeping requirements, and to establish or defend legal claims.

5. Cookies, tracking, and communication preferences

5.1 Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our partners also use pixels, tags, SDKs, and local storage. We group these into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required to operate the Site: session management, cart contents, checkout, security, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off.
  • Functional — remember preferences such as language, region, recently viewed products, and saved filters.
  • Analytics and performance — help us understand how the Site is used, which pages perform well, and where errors occur.
  • Advertising and targeting — used by us and our advertising partners to deliver and measure relevant advertising on other sites and platforms, including remarketing.

When you first visit the Site, you will see a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies and to set granular preferences. You can change your choices at any time using the cookie preferences link available on every page. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are not set until you consent.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you block cookies, some parts of the Site may not function correctly. You can still place orders by telephone at (314) 773-5999.

5.2 Global Privacy Control

We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension transmits a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser. Because the signal is browser-specific, you may need to send it from each browser and device you use, and it will not apply to information linked to your account unless you are signed in.

5.3 Do Not Track

Browsers may offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honor GPC signals as described above.

5.4 Email communications

We send order and service notifications to the email address associated with your order. These are transactional and are not marketing messages. We also send marketing emails to customers and subscribers, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each message or by contacting us.

6. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. Companies that perform services on our behalf under contract, including e-commerce hosting, order and inventory management, payment processing, fraud prevention, shipping and freight, email delivery, customer reviews, loyalty program administration, site search and personalization, analytics, hosting, and IT support. They are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Manufacturers and distributors. For drop-ship orders, warranty registration, service and repair claims, rebate processing, and authorized-dealer program administration, we share the information needed to complete those transactions.
  • Protection plan and extended warranty administrators. Where you purchase a plan, the third-party administrator receives the information needed to register and service it.
  • Shipping carriers and freight brokers. To deliver your order, including scheduling for LTL and machinery deliveries.
  • Financing partners. If you apply for financing or a lease, you are directed to the provider, who acts as an independent controller of the information you submit and applies its own privacy policy. We may receive the application status and approved amount.
  • Advertising and analytics partners. Subject to your cookie choices, we share online identifiers and browsing activity with advertising and analytics partners so that we can measure campaigns and show you relevant ads. These currently include Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google Tag Manager), Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Microsoft Advertising. Under some state laws this is considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or "targeted advertising." See Section 7.
  • Professional advisors. Accountants, auditors, insurers, and attorneys, where necessary.
  • Legal and safety. Where we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms, investigate fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Beaver Industrial Supply, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as a business asset.

Outside the circumstances described in this section, we do not sell, rent, license, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to unaffiliated third parties.

7. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

We do use advertising and analytics technologies that disclose online identifiers, device information, and browsing activity to third parties for advertising purposes. These include advertising pixels and tags operated by Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Microsoft Advertising, which we use for remarketing, audience building, and conversion measurement. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and under comparable laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and other states, this activity qualifies as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and as processing for "targeted advertising."

Where you decline the Advertising cookie category, or where we receive a Global Privacy Control signal, these pixels are blocked and the associated identifiers are not transmitted.

You may opt out at any time by:

  • Selecting "Reject all" or turning off the Advertising category in our cookie preferences link, available on every page;
  • Enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser; or
  • Contacting us at tooltalk@beavertools.com.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8. Your privacy rights

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have some or all of the following rights, depending on the state:

  • Right to know or access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you. Certain requests may be denied where we are required to retain information as a matter of law, or where it is necessary to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, service a warranty or protection plan, or establish or defend legal claims. We may retain records of individual sales transactions for recordkeeping and servicing purposes.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to portability — receive a copy of your information in a readily usable format.
  • Right to opt out — opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — where applicable.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
  • Right to appeal — if we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or contacting us at tooltalk@beavertools.com. We will respond to appeals within the time required by your state's law.

How to submit a request

Submit a request by emailing tooltalk@beavertools.com, calling (314) 773-5999, or writing to the address in Section 14. To opt out of targeted advertising, use the cookie preferences link on any page.

You may also review and update much of your information directly by signing in to your account. Note that you cannot delete information associated with completed purchases.

We will verify your identity before acting on a request, typically by asking you to confirm information already associated with your account or recent orders. We will not use information collected for verification for any other purpose. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally 45 days, with one extension where permitted.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We will require written proof of the agent's authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

California Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and then for the periods required by law. In practice:

  • Order and transaction records — retained for the period required by tax, accounting, and warranty obligations, generally at least seven years.
  • Tax-exemption documentation — retained as required by applicable state tax authorities.
  • Account information — retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
  • Marketing contact information — retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Cookie and analytics data — retained according to the retention settings of each provider, typically between two months and two years.
  • Customer service records — retained as needed to resolve issues and support warranty and service claims.

When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or convert it to an anonymous form.

10. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The Site uses TLS encryption for data transmitted between your browser and our servers. Payment card data is transmitted directly to PCI DSS compliant payment providers; we do not receive or store full card numbers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for professional and trade customers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at tooltalk@beavertools.com and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links and services

The Site links to manufacturer websites, financing providers, product documentation, and social media platforms. Those services are operated independently and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing information to them.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as a banner on the Site or an email to registered account holders. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
