Product Availability & Supply Chain Delays
Global supply chains have experienced significant disruptions during this time, especially in the power tool and machinery industry.
Why is there a machinery shortage?
"Schedule reliability and equipment shortage are impacted by two main factors: recent delays via the Suez Canal and lower port productivity, especially on transpacific and European trade routes, mainly as a result of the effects of COVID-19.
Several hundreds of vessels were stuck around the Ever Given in the Suez Canal with thousands of containers onboard. Carriers are searching for berths in ports around Europe to offload their cargoes but a queue for berthing spots will mean a further delay to get containers offloaded and back to the source, adding to the equipment shortage the industry already struggled with due to the impact of COVID-19 on ports." Why do I still have to wait up to months for a tool?
Due to the shipping container shortage, port delays and rail space shortage, all aspects of the supply chain have been affected by the significant increase in demand for equipment, especially woodworking and metalworking tools during this time.
Some power tools and machines are back-ordered with the manufacturer for 30 weeks. So you don't have to wait that long, we adjusted our forecasting last year to these new lead times. Unlike other dealers, we are stocking thousands of SKUs that we offer, in our four warehouses located in St. Louis.
Know that we are equally as frustrated that you, at times, still have to wait 2-3 months for your tools, but we are doing everything that we can to keep your shops up and running by stocking up.
We recommend that you order extra tools and machinery to prevent any downtime in your business.
